My Mother's Friends

Too bad my mother did not label these photos.  Both my parents are gone now and left me to figure out who these people are in the photos.  Just before my father died, I asked him if he could identify any of them.  ALL he told me was they were friends of my mother.

This photo reminds me of my grandmother, Virginia Ewing Howell (see photo below).  The deep V neck blouse and the straight forward view is very similar to this photo of my grandmother. Perhaps they both were photographed about the same time period.  My grandmother died in 1932 at age 42. What year do you think this was?  Early 1930s?  Hum.... that make me think that I should go look at my mother's year book and see if this women above in any of her classes.  My mother graduated in 1936 from Pennsylvania College for Women, now called Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
